Severe weather during examinations

To safeguard the interests of students whilst also maintaining the security and integrity of the examinations, scheduled examinations will go ahead as planned. Wherever possible students should make every effort to travel safely into school and sit their examinations as normal.

Late arrivals

In bad weather students may need to allow extra time for their journeys into school. If they arrive late, we will follow the normal late arrival guidance in the JCQ Instructions for conducting examinations. We will apply for special consideration online.

Travel disruption

If a student cannot get into school for a scheduled examination they will need to sit a missed examination at the next examination session.

Examination Grading

With some GCSEs for Year 10 students moving to the numerical grading (9-1) and others remaining on the ‘old’ system (A*-G) please see the accompanying table which should outline the examination boards used by different subjects and whether they are on the new grading system or not.
