Unit 3:
F523 (Designing, Making & Evaluating)
The majority of Year 13 is devoted to designing,making & evaluating a product of the students choice. The work covered in Year 12 provides the foundation for this.
The students shows their design thinking in a 40 - 50 slide "Powerpoint" e-folio that uses digital images, video, audio (and as you can see below ),2D & 3D CAD work to show how the final design has developed.
Students then make (in the most appropriate Resistant Material) a full working prototype of their design.

Unit:4
Unit F524 (Product Design Examination)
A two and a half hour design based examination, the solution to which is worked on A3 paper as a combination of sketches and annotation.
Topics covered throughout the course range from exploring all aspects of the design process, theoretical and practical exploration of different resistant materials, environmental and moral issues and Computer Aided Design and Manufacture.
