Manga Artist: Sonia Leong
7th October

Professional manga artist Sonia Leong visited the school and talked to Year 9 students about her work.

She gave an informative presentation about this exciting genre of writing, and offered useful advice for aspiring comic artists.

National Poetry Day: 6th October

KS3 students celebrating poetry

KS3 students took part in a "poetry slam", in celebration of National Poetry Day. Students took turns reciting their favourite poems, and sharing poems written by themselves. The day was a real success; many thanks to all those who took part.

Year 8 ESB: 17th - 24th June

The Year 8 English Speaking Board examination involves:

       *A biographical talk (4 minutes)
*Reciting a poem from memory. (2 minutes)
*Commenting on a prepared reading of a prose extract(3 minutes)
*Asking questions and giving good answers.

The English department takes this examination seriously, and we expect our students to do the same. Nonetheless, this is a fun examination and an enjoyable experience for all.
