NATIONAL SPACE CENTRE VIDEO CONFERENCE

On the 4th of January 2008 the class of 7B had video conference with the scientists from the National Space Centre. We got the opportunity to ask the professionals questions about space using a web cam.

The technology of web cams has allowed us to talk to people all over the world and has allowed us to learn without the cost of flying to NASA Space Centre or flying to other places. Using web cams we can find out about other countries and about other people. Could web cams be the future, could they take over schools and students being taught from home?

After some technical difficulties we managed to get through to the scientists at the National Space Centre, the questions that they selected to answer where very good and we got some very interesting answers, this helped us a lot in understanding the basics of space and the solar system.

How do astronauts go to the toilet? This was one of the most interesting questions but a lot of others where interesting as well. What is the closest we could live to the sun? What do astronauts eat? What does it feel like when breaking through the Earth’s atmosphere? Could we live on other planets? Is there life on other planets? These are just some of the questions that were answered.

The class of 7B got their answers and found it very interesting. They all enjoyed it and they think it helped them a lot. Do you think web cams could take over schools?

Do you think there is life on other planets?
