SCHOOL UNIFORM

  • All students in Year 7 – 11 wear uniform.  This is standardised and purchased from Fletcher Sports, Podgers and Shoestring or where otherwise stated.  All articles must be clearly labelled.
  • Clothing grants are available according to particular circumstances.  For information please contact the Education Department directly.  All requests are treated confidentially.
  • Motorcyclists and pedal cyclists are permitted to wear suitable protective clothing at parents’ written requests.
  • Books and equipment are carried in a substantial dark coloured bag.
  • Summer uniform is worn during the Summer Term.
  • No makeup, no facial or body piercing. The wearing of jewellery with uniform is inappropriate.
  • Hair should be worn off the face and in a smart sensible style.  Hairwear should be appropriate and in school colours only i.e.: burgundy, grey, white or black

BOYS’ UNIFORM:

  • A sensible school coat which can be worn over the school blazer.
  • School scarf (optional) or plain grey or plain white only.
  • A burgundy blazer with school crest.
  • The school tie (long) to be worn with a white long sleeved or short sleeved shirt during winter. A white short sleeved, tailored, open neck shirt  for summer is available from Podgers only.  A Year 11 school tie is available from the school office.
  • Standard grey trousers  and grey socks. 
  • Black shoes (not trainer style).
  • A tabard for Food Technology is to be purchased from the school.  Students will be advised when this is required.

GAMES:

  • All boys must take part in Games and P.E. unless medically excused.  A letter is needed for any excusal
  • A mouthguard is required to allow boys to play Rugby and Hockey.  A dentist comes into school during the Autumn term to supply and fit gum shields should you wish to use this service

PE CLOTHING:

  • Sports shoes (not black soles), white shorts, white T-Shirt, white socks, football boots, shin pads, and gum shield
  • One burgundy shirt with white collar and one house shirt.  (Fulford - Yellow with white collar; Hill - Blue with white collar; Roughton - Green with white collar;
  • Stewart - Red with white collar)
  • Burgundy football socks with white tops
  • Plain black swimming trunks or plain black Speedo swimming shorts

MATHEMATICS: 

A maths pack can be purchased from the Maths Department (£8.50), this includes a calculator, geometry set and clear pencil case, which is appropriate for use in Years 7-13.


GIRLS’ UNIFORM:

  • A sensible school coat which can be worn over the school blazer.
  • School scarf (optional) or plain grey or plain white only.
  • A burgundy blazer with the school crest.
  • A grey box pleat knee length skirt, available from recommended uniform suppliers only.
  • Skirts should be no more than 7cm above the knee.
  • Grey trousers (from Podgers or Fletchers sports only).
  • A white long sleeved blouse worn with the school tie (winter); white short sleeved, open-necked blouse (summer).
  • A silver grey V-necked jumper with burgundy stripes at the neck.
  • Grey or skin-tone tights.   White ankle, trainer or knee length socks.
  • Substantial black shoes, low heeled or flat and not decorated.
  • A tabard for Food Technology is to be purchased from the school.  Students will be advised when this is required.

  • Astroturf Hockey Shoes - optional
