A SHORT NOTE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT

A SHORT NOTE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT

Welcome to the Parent Teacher Association - we are an active group of parents who support the school in fund raising events, parent nights and committees. It is a way, as a parent, to get involved within the school, meet other parents and teachers and acquire a better understanding of how the school functions.

The PTA run several very successful events throughout the school year, the main ones being:

· An Annual School Quiz which, with the help of Mr Montague and Mr du Feu plus willing students, guarantee it is always a very enjoyable evening.

· An Annual Autumn Fayre which sets the Christmas mood for all those that participate or attend.

· A biennial Fashion Show which brings the school together in a frenzy of activity resulting in two nights of outstanding performance from staff and pupils alike.

There are many things that you can do to help the PTA to continue to be as successful as it has been. This doesn’t mean you have to stand on the Committee although we are always looking for willing volunteers to join us, but you can just put your name down on a “helpers list” so we know we can call on you if and when extra help is needed. If you would like to be on the Committee or ‘helpers list’ you need not worry that it is time consuming, as you can do as little or much as you like and we normally meet only once a term.

You may also be aware that we run a monthly lottery which was originally set up to help maintain the courtyard but the funds are now to be used to maintain the on-going costs school minibus, which we purchased last year. The annual subscription is only £12 and it is drawn monthly with prizes of £40 and £20. Our target would be to get all parents participating in this lottery, so please consider participating. Forms are available online here or from the school office or PTA committee members.

If you would like any further information or details about the PTA or just want to join us please do not hesitate to contact me, either by phone, as below or e-mail jcoleman@hssd.gov.gg

Alternatively, please feel free to contact one of the committee members:

Jan Coleman; President 239208
Davina Mansell; Vice President 728031
Judy Eldridge; Secretary 233304
Eamonn Finnerty; Treasurer 726731

I look forward to hearing from you
Jan Coleman – President PTA
