PTA Fund Raising

The PTA is an active group which aims to put on events and raise funds for school projects which would otherwise not gain funding.    Our fund raising events have completed for the current academic year but we will be starting again in the Autumn and next year's provisional dates are included below.

Thank you very much to all those who helped at the Autumn Fayre last November.  The final figure raised was over £9,000.  This is an excellent result and we thank everyone involved, in whatever capacity.  The Autumn Fayre this year will be held on 24th November.

The big quiz, held on March 23rd this year raised £1,252 - thank you to those of you who helped or took part in the event to help us raise such a good sum of money.

A previous PTA project was for the Year 7 Courtyard which was fitted out for Year 7 use.  The PTA runs a lottery in order to provide money for planting, maintenance and general upkeep.  To access the Lottery Application Form - Click Here.

The Lottery winners for the past 12 months are:

  • MAY £40 C&DL; £20 A&RB
  • APR £40 JRD; £29 C&DL
  • MAR £40 Mr&MrsAB; £20 DA&JWB
  • FEB £40 CAD; £20 P&KB
  • JAN £40 BC; £20 S&RG

In the past, fund-raising has provided a specialist cutter for Design Technology and, most recently, the PTA has raised sufficient raising funds to purchase and subsequently maintain and run a school minibus. This is used to take students and staff on field trips and sports fixtures, greatly reducing the current expenditure on bus hire for such events.  This year we have provided funds towards a variety of projects including a geography conservation area, the school library refurbishment and the Year 11 student year book

The final total of our Fashion Show, held in October 2010, was £3,017.03 with a further £230 being raised from our retirement collection for the Women's Refuge.  To see some pictures of the Fashion show, put together by some of our Sixth Form Students Click here.  This year our Fashion Show will be held on 11th & 12th October.

Finally, we like to hold an event to welcome all Year 7 students and their parents to the school.  This will be in September 2012 but the final dates and arrangements have yet to be agreed and will be announced in July.
