POEMS FROM SIXTH FORM STUDENTS

Both poems structurally serve as visual representations of the common school experience. They seek to inform the reader of both the reality of school life and the maturation process all students embark upon.

‘Pupils’ Pyramid’

We have used the structure of a pyramid to visually reflect the hierarchical system within school, the progression of years as well as the progression of learning.

‘Retrospective Reflection’

This image is a literal mirror and also the metaphorical mirroring of a person at different stages of maturity. We have explored the reality of the school experience in that the insightful older student readily imparts experience and wisdom in order to illuminate their younger self of what is to come.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME

Guernsey Grammar School and Sixth Form Centre is a candidate school* for the Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education—that we believe is important for our students. * Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its three academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) or the Diploma Programme (and in addition the IB Career-related Certificate). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes visit www.ibo.org
